This article aims at contributing to a little explored theme in the academy: the third age, ageing and capoeira. Through a bibliographical review and supported by the experience of life of the author as a capoeira master, it contributes with information and initial reflections on the subject. This study shows the importance of playful aspects in the practice of capoeira at this age. With the increase of third age practitioners and masters in a near future, there is a need for further investigations in the area and for a greater deepening in the application of concepts and knowledge by the professionals that act specifically in the sector.
