Assessment Of The Quality Of Life Of The Carrier Of Incontinence Urinary

Abstract

The Incontinence Urinary is defined as the involuntary lost of urine wich causes social and hygienic problems, ragardless sex and age, having more cases between females and elderly above 60 years old. It's important to mention that Incontinence Urinary is not part of the natural process of getting old, once this problem causes functional and structural alteration in the urinary system leaving to Incontinence Urinary, causing impact on the person's life style. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the life style of people who have Incontinence Urinary, in a group of elderly people of DATI from Passo Fundo. To obtain the datas of the research some questionnaires were applied: "King’s Health Questionnaire” (KHQ) e “International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire – Short Form” (ICIQ-SF). The results showed that there were some interferences on life style. However, most of participants didn't consider the Incontinence Urinary as a relevant problem that needs medical assistance, as well as not doing their normal daily activities, something that can be explained by the lack of information, or by the different interpretation of life style that each person can have.
