Abstract

The rheumatic diseases cause functional difficulties, social difficulties and alteration behavior, consequently varied degrees of difficulties in the execution of the daily activities, work and leisure. For incidence millions of people in the world and for not having many studies to these diseases, this study have a main objective evaluate the epidemiologic profile of the patients taken care in the Service of Fisioterapia Reumatológica in Faculdade de Educação Física e Fisioterapia da Universidade de Passo Fundo. For this, some data was collected as age, sex, main complaint, associates diseases, family history, main joints attacks and the percentage of diseases in the clinic to this population. These data had been collected by research of handbooks, since the inauguration of the service in the year of 2002 until the year of 2006, later analyzed. The population was constituted by 309 handbooks and the sample for 235. The data was based by descriptive analyzed and the percentage of occurrence, being represented through graphs. It was verified through this study that a great part of the patients, was of the feminine sex (85.4%), predominated the rheumatic diseases in the age between 61 the 70 years old and that the rheumatic diseases most prevalence was the osteoarthritis with more than half of the diseases in this sample. In the majority of the cases, the pain was the main complaint. The joint most incidence was the column and the knees.
