This article investigates intersections between science fiction, film-education, and Freire-inspired aesthetic, with the aim of understanding how these dimensions can contribute to human development and democratization of knowledge. Methodologically, it is based on a bibliographic review and conceptual analysis, articulating studies of science fiction, studies on film-education, and texts by Paulo Freire. The first section discusses the trajectory and cultural potential of sci-fi, which connects science, technology, and social imagination. The second addresses film-education as a field of aesthetic and pedagogical contestation, problematizing its limits and possibilities in the context of human development. The third section explores the foundation of a possible popular education aesthetic in Paulo Freire, highlighting his contributions that integrate ethics, aesthetics, and the democratization of knowledge, and provides a basis for thinking about a popular education that unites subjectivity and objectivity, form and content, science and imagination. It concludes by indicating that the articulation between science fiction, film-education, and Freirean aesthetics can broaden the understanding of the role of education in contemporary times, opening possibilities for practices committed to emancipation. The paper develops a critical perspective in which science fiction and cinema-education become instruments for the democratization of knowledge and the strengthening of human formation in times of technocentric challenges.
