The fourth molars are supranumeric teeth located subsequent to the third ones. Due to their localization, these teeth can not always be perfectly visualized when radiographs of routine are taken. A complete visualization of the fourth molar is essential for a correct diagnosis and elaboration of a treatment plan. The present work is about radiographic techniques that can be carried out to better visualize the fourth molar, emphasizing the advantages and disadvantages of the panoramic and periapical radiographs, as well as the techniques of Miller-Winter, Parma, Donovan and jaw oblique lateral, with the purpose of accomplishing the radiographic diagnosis. Key words: Supernumeric tooth. Fourth molar. Dental radiography.Downloads
