Analysis of radiographic processing in dental offices in Feira de Santana - BA

Abstract

This study was developed with the aim of evaluating the quality control of dental surgeons in the city of Feira de Santana regarding radiographic processing. One hun- dred (100) professionals took part in the study, answering a small questionnaire and processing a standard radiograph. Results sho- wed that in only 8% of the cases the radiographs were correctly proces- sed, that professionals used deve- loping times shorter than the ones recommended by the manufacturer, and they preferred to realize proces- sing by the visual method. Based on the results obtained it was concluded that the majority of dental surgeons in the city of Feira de Santana are not correctly processing their radio- graphs and are poorly informed with regard to the current preconized standards of quality control Key words: dental radiograph, quality control.
