Abstract

This study compares the associa- tion of interspace and conventional toothbrush on the reduction of bio- film dental plaque on occlusal surfa- ces of deciduous molars in eruption period. 22 babies aging from 1 to 3 years old were divided into two groups. The babies’ parents received oral hygiene instruction every week, independently on which group they were. PHP index was used to register the quantity of biofilm dental plaque. This was performed weekly during six months. Based on the results we can conclude that there was no sta- tistic difference between both groups on the reduction of biofilm dental plaque on occlusal surface of deci- duous molars in eruption period. Key words: biofilm dental pla- que, occlusal surface, toothbrush, deciduous molars
