Knowledge degree from the public and health professionals about Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge degree of medical and dental practitioners, dental students and people from the general public about Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Two hundred and fifty-five people, divided into the four groups abo- ve, were surveyed, answering a questionnaire which evaluated the knowledge that these people had about this speciality. The results showed that there was, in all groups, a lack of information about the scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
