Ankylosis of the TMJ after trauma: clinical case report

This is a report of a clinical case of a female patient, 13 years old, that had suffered a car accident, resulting in fracture of the neck's mandibular articular processoAs a consequence of this trauma, the patient presented unilateral ankylosis of the left temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The patient had a surgery at the Cristo Redentor Hospital, of Grupo Hospitalar Conceição (GHC), in Porto Alegre, to remove the ankylotic block and restoration of the mandible articular process with costochondral graft, in just one surgical session.
