Influence of the format of the implant on rehabilitation in cases of mesio-distal space limitation

Abstract

Despite the development of the implantodonty, it suc- cess depends on rigorous planning, and in cases with li- mited mesio-distal space the selection of implant shape is very important. Objective and case report: This work tells the clinical case of a patient with bilateral dental agenesis of the superior lateral incisors with absence of satisfactory space in the mesio-distal direction, hinde- ring the use of implantations in conventional ratios, al- though previous an orthodontic treatment. After radio- graphic examinations and the study of articulated mo- dels in semi-adjustable articulator we chose to perform two single body implants with immediate load, brand SINTM-Unident, with diameter reduced to the solution of the case. Final considerations: Correct planning, diag- nosis and the technique showed satisfactory results both immediate and long-term.
