Uso sistêmico de analgésicos e anti-inflamatórios na odontologia: uma revisão integrativa da literatura

Resumo

Introdução: A dor orofacial pode ser classificada em diferentes tipos, como dor pós-operatória e dor associada à inflamação da polpa e dos tecidos periapicais. Os analgésicos e anti-inflamatórios desempenham um papel essencial no tratamento da dor orofacial, proporcionando alívio sintomático e reduzindo a inflamação. Objetivo: Identificar os analgésicos e anti-inflamatórios de uso sistêmico mais utilizados na prática odontológica. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa. A seleção dos artigos foi realizada em janeiro de 2025, a partir de buscas em quatro bases de dados (PubMed, Scopus, Embase e Web of Science), com data de publicação dos últimos cinco anos. Após a identificação dos estudos, 19 estudos foram incluídos. Revisão de Literatura: Esta revisão identificou os anti-inflamatórios não esteroidais (AINEs), como ibuprofeno, diclofenaco e aceclofenaco, como os medicamentos mais comumente prescritos por cirurgiões-dentistas, juntamente com os analgésicos antipiréticos, principalmente o paracetamol. Em casos de dor intensa ou refratária, os opioides mais prescritos foram codeína, hidrocodona e oxicodona, frequentemente administrados em associação com paracetamol. Conclusão: Os AINEs e o paracetamol foram amplamente prescritos devido à sua eficácia no controle da dor e da inflamação em diferentes contextos odontológicos, como o manejo da dor pós-operatória em cirurgia oral e maxilofacial, o tratamento de dor pulpar e endodôntica e o controle de condições inflamatórias e infecciosas.
