Primary Care Information System as a tool of the management in health

Abstract

This objective of this paper is to analyze the Primary Care Information System (SIAB) as a tool of the management in health and its effectiveness on gathering information regarding the local community health status and its capability on diagnosing inequalities in health on the basic care assistance. By doing this, it is proposed to analyze the effectiveness of this tool for planning health actions in BCC – Basic Care Center – inside the welldefined work area of the F.H.P (Family Health Program) and the A.C.H.P (Agent Community Health Program). It is known that the greater the range of information available by a tool the easier, complete and safe the planning and elaboration become for education and health promotion, aiming to reduce the inequalities. Thus, this paper claims for the need of changing the tool SIAB and its improvement for the creation of a database for the best health services planning in a well-defined area.
