This paper is based on the music making of the guitarists-composers Roland Dyens (1955-2016) and Dusan Bogdanovic (1955), both with various recordings in their own repertoire. Among current guitarists-composers, they are recognized in the literature as a reference for performers who compose, arrange and improvise. This research presents and analyses in a systematic and unprecedent way the complete available recorded by Dyens and Bogdanovic, including the “out of catalogue” records, based on a longitudinal study, covering a períod of thirty three years (1979-2011), revealing the characteristics and evolution of music making of both. The results are presented and organized by the various types of music making studied by Elliott (1995) – performing, composing, arranging and improvising, as well as the modalities reveal during the analyse.
