As “frestas” do tempo: sobre a concepção de história em Walter Benjamin

Resumo

O artigo analisa a concepção de história em Walter Benjamin presente, de modo especial, em sua obra “Sobre o conceito de história”. A reflexão benjaminiana ali contida não se constitui apenas como especulação sobre os rumos da história ou como um conjunto de análises pessimistas ou otimistas sobre acontecimentos passados. É, antes de tudo, uma abordagem crítica sobre nosso discurso (escrita) a respeito da história (ou das histórias) o que remete às questões mais amplas da própria atividade da narração. Objetivando atribuir um caráter emancipatório à narrativa historiográfica, o trabalho ora apresentado articula as noções benjaminianas de tempo, aura e memória confrontando-as com noção tradicional de progresso.
