“Bêbados, arruaceiros e sovinas”: a Igreja Católica e o imaginário imigrante no início do século XX – Ponta Grossa (PR)

Résumé

Neste artigo buscamos compreender a construção dos significados da chegada dos imigrantes à região de Ponta Grossa (PR) a partir dos finais do século XIX e os tensionamentos que se estabeleceram entre poloneses e alemães, os agentes da instituição eclesiástica, representada pela Sociedade do Verbo Divino, e a população local. Os discursos que produziram evidenciam as percepções e o estranhamento entre universos culturais, ao mesmo tempo distintos e relacionados, e que se polarizaram no espaço urbano.
