Resumo

Quest'articolo si concentra sulle particolari caratteristiche dell'imperialismo fascista e sul suo sforzo di costruire una coscienza nazionale tramite il riscatto coloniale per mezzo della guerra contro l'Abissinia. Tentativo che ha incontrato una risposta ambivalente in Italia e all'estero, tra gli antifascisti in esilio. Lo studio della politica del Partito comunista sulla questione della guerra italo – etiopica a metà degli anni Trenta ci permette di ricostruire la sfida degli antifascisti al regime, su scala internazionale, che avrà una ripercussione più profonda in seguito durante la guerra civile spagnola.
