Abstract

O artigo relata a trajetória do Memorial da Justiça do Trabalho no Rio Grande do Sul na busca de conservar, preservar, pesquisar e disponibilizar as diversas fontes da instituição. É um acervo de inquestionável valor histórico, servindo de material para estudos em diversos níveis e variadas áreas das ciências humanas. Exemplifica mencionando algumas pesquisas. Essa documentação permite contato com informações sobre trabalhadores que usualmente deixam poucos rastros na história. Portanto, adquirem importância as estratégias de preservação e disponibilização dessas fontes, sendo relatadas as iniciativas adotadas, destacando-se as atividades de sensibilização do público interno e externo para a questão da conservação da memória da Justiça do Trabalho.
