Resumo

Os conceitos e noções que têm estado presente na agenda dos estudos de imigração estão vinculados a correntes interpretativas as quais, se gozam de prestígio em dado contexto, podem, posteriormente, sofrer contestação por parte de novas gerações de pesquisadores que buscam afirmar suas próprias interpretações. Neste artigo, intenta-se revisar a potencialidade de alguns conceitos, acompanhando parcialmente seu destino acadêmico, e pôr em debate algumas noções e interpretações com as quais pesquisadores contemporâneos demarcam posições no campo dos estudos migratórios.
