If all human rights are universal, then we are all equal before the law and have the same rights and equal protection, how is it possible that in the current pandemic situation as a result of COVID-19, human rights such as dignity, life or equality of certain vulnerable groups, among others, are being violated? Certain governments, acting disproportionately and arbitrarily, have denied older people access to respirators, leaving them to die. Throughout this chapter we will analyze the human right to dignity of the person and its violation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.
