In the current circumstances of the Brazilian political scenario, the need for changes in the political structure is urgent. Thus, once again Brazilian society is facing the issue of Political Reform. The various bills, as well as the various proposals for amendments to the Constitution, dealt exclusively with points arising from Electoral Law, such as district voting, and its various ramifications and legal understandings, financing of electoral campaigns, proportional voting and the possibility of re-election for the heads of the executive branch. Within this perspective, a debate that has been taking place since 2015 on the topic of Political Reform in the National Congress is addressed, through the Special Commission created to discuss this topic, as well as the proposal for an amendment to the Federal Constitution that would serve as a guide for future constitutional and legislative changes.
