Abstract

This work evaluates mixed columns consisting of bagged concrete and tubular steel profiles, in order to experimentally verify the strength and behavior of prototypes. For this, 12 short columns were tested, three of which were unfilled and 9 were filled with bagged concrete, with and without connectors. The mixed profiles were subjected to a compression test to evaluate their strength, with the load being applied only to the steel for all specimens. It was observed that the connectors increased the resistance of the prototypes. The comparison between experimental results and normative prescriptions indicated that the inclusion of the connectors increased the adhesion, which justifies the strength gain of the reinforcement prototype.
