Abstract

This work presents a new method for automation the process of reading water meters (hydrometers) and electricity meters, with analog or digital display through a Mobile Application (App), iOS and Android platform, making use of computer vision to acquire the digits displayed on the meter display of water and energy consumption (consumption reading) and its cloud storage in a NoSQL database for future predictive analysis (Big Data). This article will address the architecture and development of the Computer Vision-based App developed to be used in the energy and water concessionaires of Brasília, CEB (Companhia Energética de Brasília) and CAESB (Companhia de Saneamento Ambiental do Distrito Federal).
