Abstract

In the practice of software project teams, it is common to observe the use of agile methods with additional techniques, for example Design Thinking. What do these techniques have in common with the creation of Product Visions? This article investigates the paradigms in the contextualization of the properties of a product concept created through the principles of DT and Product Visions within the context of software development. The analysis was performed in two stages. First, through a systematic review of the literature on the relationship between these two terms in the information technology (IT) area, focusing on the importance that the generation of initial product concepts, guided by teams, must be performed through design tools and creating Product Visions. And second, through the presentation of a case study, which shows how these principles were integrated in the process of translating user needs into functional requirements. The results show that there are limitations in the integration of DT and Product Vision in agile management practices, and that these methods can complement each other and provide collective learning depending on the team's strategy.
