Abstract

Communicability refers to the ability of a system to communicate effectively and understandably with the user. In this sense, this article investigates the communicability of a system developed to serve as a collaborative dictionary for the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). The research uses semiotic inspection methodologies to evaluate how the developers' intentions are perceived and interpreted by users. The results point to the need for significant refinements in the tool, to improve the communicability and the user experience - essential aspects for the teaching and broader social inclusion of the deaf community. Such modifications aim to facilitate the use of the dictionary, promoting a clearer understanding of the content and more effective learning of Libras by its users.
