Abstract

Background, color evaluation is used in the industry to ensure that the colors of an image or material are identical to those approved during of the initial project and that the process variation is not noticeable to the consumer. This research aimed to investigate approaches and methods for color identification and evaluation. The systematic review of the literature was carried out based on the selection of 39 articles published between 2008 and 2018. Results, the results of this systematic review should encourage the development of color assessment methods, particularly for the end consumer industry. The results pointed out the need for more studies focused on the industrial area, particularly with greater participation of professionals in the validation of new methods. Conclusions,
this work contributes to the survey of the literature that enabled the mapping and the current knowledge state of the correlated studies.
