Abstract

This is a qualitative study that developed ludic-didactical activities in meetings with six elderly people to verify if these activities contribute to the self-care of these elderly. Methodology involved ludic-didactical games, recreational activities and debate, moments of exchanging experiences and development of vinculum. After the last meeting, individual interview was made to know how they felt while performing these activities and how these activities interfered in their self-care. We observed that ludic activities are important to help nurses to act as health educators. When taking part of the proposed games and plays, the elderly laughed and had fun, clarifying doubts and talking about the theme. These activities promoted teaching/education and also interaction and sociability.
