Abstract

This research goal is to know which age is more associated with death by elderly people’s conception. The reason to study the meaning of death and old age is because both themes are considered taboo by our society, and so, silenced. The data were collected in a city from Pernambuco’s country because this area has little visibility on academic research in the psychological field. We interviewed 100 elderly persons from Carnaíba, a city from Pernambuco´s country. 77 of the interviews participants were women and 23 were men. We checked that the age more associated with death by the participants were old age. By that we can open various interpretations on how the elderly persons are realizing themselves and death in their lives.
