Health’s academic’s of Unicruz perception about human’s growing old

Abstract

The objective of this study is analyzing the conceptions of academics of health’s courses of Unicruz (Physical Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Social Service) about the growing old. Were interviewed 12 subjects, 2 students of the last year of each course, one female and one male, chose randomly. The medium old was 23,16 ± 3,04 years. Was realized one interview in depth, the information were recorded and writing. We used the analysis’ content technique, so we first realized one global read of interviews and after the categorization and interpretation. We can perceive that the conceptions and ideas of academics valorize esthetics aspects, identify the body like one “machine”, and grow old like one decadence stage of human. Although in the relates appear references to “experience” like one positive aspect of old age, the interviewed people was contradict in their speech. We can verify too, the strong presence of fear to became old, represent in the says by ideas of solitude, loss, dependence, fragility. Still, the major of students doesn’t intend work with old people, even in the actual demographic context. This could be relation with the formation process of this academics, although the conception of world and man had relation with others aspects
