The manufacture of metallic structures in dentures goes through the process of welding. In the components used over the osseointegrated implants, this premise is confirmed, making the pre-determined margin of pre-manufactured structures an alternative for the welding and over welding, controlling the marginal adaptation of the cylinders. This study struggled to measure and compare, in vitro, the adaptation of the intermediatecylindrical pre-manufactured, calcinated and metallic interface in implanto-supported and implanto-retained over denture readaptations. Forty randomed cylinders subdivided in twenty calcinated and twenty metallic were welded in a nickel-chrome alloy. Ten samples of each material were segmented for future welding and the rest welded in a mono block system. The vertical and horizontal misadaptation in the intermediate-cylindrical interface was measured with the MEM (measurement electronic microscope) by a trained professional. For the statistic evaluation, the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests were used. After casting, the misadaptation averages in the vertical position were 19 μm for the cylindrical metallic and 13 μm for the cilyndrical calcinated and, in the horizontal, they were 15 μm for the cilyndrical metallic and 31 μm for the cylindrical calcinated. However, after welding, the distortion found among the materials was, in the vertical position, 20 μm for the cylindrical metallic and 6 μm in the cylindrical calcinated, and, in the horizontal, 21 μm in the cylindrical metallic and 25 μm in the cylindrical calcinated. The conclusion was that the casting does not interfere meaningfully when both cylinders part of a bar are screwed on two implants. After welding, the adaptation improved meaningfully in the calcinated cylinders.Downloads
