Planning actions make the possibility to organizational changes and the reformulation process in the health practice possible. The Municipal Health Care is an instrument for the management which corresponds to all propositions of the municipal government in terms of problems and necessities of the city which can help the oral health. This study was designated to analyze the Municipal Health Care Plans in the 27 towns belonging to the 8th Regional Health Care Bureau (RS/PR) of the Paraná state, trying to identify registsers of Dentistry planning. The results showed that all Plans had registers related to the dentistry area, and topics which characterize the situation of management and service for the public dentistry service network and objectives for the dentistry area were identified. However, when the results were compared with the data about the same study, obtained from the 8th RS/PR, coherence in 53% of the registers was observed. Therefore, based on the Dentistry registers, it is concluded that the information contained in Municipal Health Care Plans is insufficient for oral health planning. Key words: Politics. Planning.
