Labor life quality in public health services - a case study

Abstract

The objective of this present study is to evaluate the dentist’s labor life quality (LLQ) in public health services. It was done an applied, quantitative and exploratory research, classified as typically field work, properly a case study, in order to promote the identification of perceptions dentists have about LLQ. A questionnaire was applied among the professionals who work in the Public Health Service in the county of Itajaí/Santa Catarina, based on Walton’s model. Factors which produced a negative answer to LLQ were the fair and right compensation as well as the use and development of capacities and opportunities of growing and security. Otherwise, the factors which produced a positive answer to LLQ were: work conditions, social integration in the institution. constitutionalism, the work and the whole life space and social importance of life at work.
