Ankylosis in primary molars: a literature review

Abstract

The aim of this study is to point out the most important as- pects of ankylosis: etiology, preva- lence, diagnosis and treatment. Being a high-frequency alteration, principally in the mixed denture, it seems important to alert dentists about its occurrence, helping them in the diagnosis, so that the best treatment be done. In this way, it has been giving conditions to occur a correct development of the child’s occlusion. Key words: ankylosis, in- fraocclusion, primary molars.
