Mandibular molar with five canals: case report

Abstract

The success rate obtained on teeth that are submitted to endo- dontic therapy reaches about 90- 95% of the cases observed. There are various factors that actually contribute for the occurrence of this success rate. Among which, knowledge on the internal anatomy of each tooth, with its peculiarities and variations. In the present essay, the authors evaluated the percentage of occurrence of five canals in mandibular first molars, showing their localization and treatment.
