Abstract

Panoramic and hand/wrist radiographic measurements were made to analyse the facial and carpal bones growth in children with chronological age from 7 to 11 years old. Vertical and horizontal data were obtained frommandible images. Area and maximum diameter of the carpal bones were measured using a digital equipment (Mini-Mop).The results showed that carpal bones have a greater growth rate in girls and the width and height of the mandible were not significantly different in males and females. Key words: mandible, carpal bones, panoramic radiography.
