Abstract

The objective ofthis studywas evaluate the shear bond strength between two lightcured composite resins and two glass ionomer cements. Each Group of composite resin - glass ionomer (M1: Silux Plus - Vitrebond and M2: APH - Baseline) had 45 specimens divided into three other Groups of15 samples according to the submitted storage time: 24 h, 2 weeks and 4 weeks. Specimens were thermocycled before shear bond testing. The data was analysed and it was concluded that (1) both Groups (M1 and M2) showed similar results after 24 h storage time and (2) Graup Ml showed statistically superior resulta when longer storage times were used. Key words: shear bond strength, composite resin, glass ionomer cement.
