Surgical crown lengthening: a concept, a clinical reality or a scientific truth?

Abstract

The authors display their doubts with respect to the reasons thatjustifythe surgical crown lengthening procedures through a literature review. The available data to date show the need for high controlled studies to confirm such reasons, so surgicallengthening ofthe clinical crown could express more than just a concept but a scientific truth.
