Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the radio- graphic density of glass-ionomer cements (GIC) KE- TAC FIL PLUSTM, FUJI IXTM and VITREMERTM, the latter in colors A3 and B2. Materials were inserted into 20 acrylic plates of 1,5mm, 2,5mm, 3mm, 5mm and 6mm of thickness. Each plate was radiographed three times and the radiographs were digitalized with DentScan DentViewTM digital system. Seven hundred and twenty optics readies of GIC’densities were rea- lized in the digitalized images. According to ANOVA and Tukey’s test (p £ 0,01), the results of this study suggest that the density differs according to the thi- ckness and chemical composition of the GIC. Key words: dental cements, glass ionomer cements, digitalized images.
