Cowdens syndrome - case report

The Cowdens disease or Multiple Hamartoma Syn- drome is a dominant autosomal transmitted disorder, the most common manifestations are papular lesions in the same color of skin, palmoplantar hyper-kerato- sis, papillomatous lesions in oral mucosa, thyroid and breast diseases and intestinal polyps. The most consis- tent criterion for diagnosis is the presence of multiples hamartomatous cutaneous-mucosal lesions, present in 99 100% of the cases. The authors describe a 55-year- old male patient with multiple papillomatous lesions in oral mucosa, palmoplantar hyper-keratosis and nu- merous tallow cysts around the body. The objective of the work is to do a literature review on Cowdens Syn- drome and, also, to show a clinical case.
