Abstract

Introduction: Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of several conditions that are susceptible to manifestations in the oral cavity, such as dental caries, erosion and dysphagia. These are capable of early diagnosing systemic changes that impair quality of life. Objective: The aim of this study is to show oral manifestations of systemic changes in patients with CP who benefit from the presence of a multidisciplinary team. Method: An integrative literature review was performed, searching PUBMED/MEDLINE, SCIELO via google academic and EBSCO databases, using primary and secondary data. Through the search descriptors “cerebral palsy”, “dentistry”, “multidisciplinary team”, “oral manifestations”, “systemic alterations”, “pathology” and “therapeutics”, including the Boolean operator “e”. Obtaining at the end, 8 articles using the PRISMA eligibility strategy. Conclusion: Through this study, the dental surgeon (CD) proves to be indispensable in the multidisciplinary team of patients with CP, given his influence and contribution to the integrated treatment of this group. Being the oral manifestations considered indicative of systemic alterations prevalent in these individuals.
