TRADICIONAL APPROACH VERSUS BIOMIMETIC APPROACH IN PREPARATIONS FOR SEMI-DIRECT RESTAURATIONS

Introdução: A odontologia conservadora e estética tem se tornado cada vez maisevidente
devido ao avanço nos materiais restauradores e à preferência dos pacientes por
restaurações estéticas, mesmo em dentes posteriores. Com o objetivo de aproveitar as
vantagens das técnicas direta e indireta, além de reduzir custos e tempo, a técnica de
restauração semidireta tem se apresentado como uma excelente alternativa para o
tratamento restaurador. Objetivo: realizar uma revisão integrativa da literatura
comparando a abordagem tradicional com a abordagem biomimética em preparos para
restaurações dentárias semidiretas. Métodos: a coleta de dados foi realizada entre maio e
junho de 2023, utilizando as bases de dados LILACS, SciELO e PubMed. Foram
selecionados artigos em inglês e português publicados entre 2003 e 2023, sem restrição
geográfica. Resultados: A abordagem tradicional é pautada em preparos extensos que
demandam um maior desgaste de estrutura dental, assim, a odontologia minimamente
invasiva tem sido preconizada, pois garante preparos mais conservadores. A adesão é um
fator importante para a longevidade das restaurações, sendo importante realizar o manejo
do substrato após o preparo. Conclusão: Desse modo, a técnica conservadora e a
biomimética representam um avanço no tratamento odontológico, visto que permitem
resultados superiores ao mesmo tempo em que preservam a estrutura dentária natural.
