Abstract

ABSTRACT Crown discoloration can be one of the main reasons for parents to seek treatment after dental trauma. When this sequela occurs with no other clinical or radiographic symptom, a conservative approach is recommended. However, when such alterations can compromise patients’ esthetics and their interaction in social environment, an esthetic treatment may be required. Here we report the esthetic rehabilitation of a primary maxillary left central incisor presenting coronal darkening in a 5-year-old girl, which had been clinical and radiographic monitored due to dental trauma in maxillary anterior teeth since she was 1-year-old. Because of the esthetic complain, a direct composite resin veneer was performed. After treatment, a good esthetic result was achieved that satisfied the patient and her parents. In the six-month-recall esthetic improvement was maintained and there was no negative impact in the kid’s social life.
