The chemomechanical method for removal of carious dentin allows the preservation of tooth structure, thus it removes the dentine infected and it keeps the one affected. The aim of this study is to report, by means of two clinical cases, the use of a papain gel in lesions of carious dentine of deciduous and permanent teeth. In the clinical cases presented, the papain gel was able to remove the carious dentin, however, its application in deep cavities did not avoid pain and pulp exposure. The use of rotatory instruments was necessary in order to obtain the ideal cavity access.Downloads
