Objective: To identify demographic data and the prevalence of hyperdontia through radiographic examinations. Materials and Methods: Radiographs from a database of a private clinic in Feira de Santana, Bahia, were analyzed. The database contained radiographs from the year 2018. The analysis method involved group observation and discussion, followed by classification based on radiographic parameters. Data were tabulated in Excel, including information on sex, age, and location. Results: A total of 3,657 radiographs were analyzed, of which 24 presented hyperdontia. Among the identified cases, 58.6% corresponded to male patients aged between 15 and 34 years. The morphological characteristics of the anomalies varied between supplemental (38.5%) and rudimentary (61.5%). Based on location, the supernumerary teeth were classified as mesiodens (3.8%), distomolars (57.7%), and paramolars (38.5%). According to the literature, the prevalence of supernumerary teeth is low, which is consistent with the findings obtained. Although the anterior region is frequently highlighted in the literature, this study demonstrated a higher prevalence in the posterior region. Conclusion: It is essential for dental surgeons to be aware of potential dental anomalies and the standard anatomy of each dental structure to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning. Radiographic imaging plays a fundamental role in this process.
