El artículo analiza las brechas de género en el Uruguay rural entre 1990 y 2010 y las enmarca en los cambios ocurridos dentro de América Latina para igual período. Se ofrece evidencia sobre el proceso de incorporación de las mujeres al mercado laboral rural en el marco de la segunda globalización y se constata la persistente segregación de las mujeres rurales a las actividades menos calificadas de esta actividad. Si bien se observa un acortamiento de la brecha salarial de género, ésta responde a una pérdida de ingreso de los hombres durante la última crisis económica del país, antes que a mejoras del salario percibido por las mujeres.
