As práticas culturais da sociedade musical “União XV de Novembro”

O presente artigo traz uma discussão a respeito das bandas civis no Brasil e suas representações, baseada em pes-quisa empírica da sociedade musical “União XV de Novembro”, da cidade de Mariana - MG. Essa sociedade musical pode nos fornecer indícios importantes sobre a vida sociocultural de seus mú-sicos, as ocasiões em que se apresenta-vam, o perfil do público que participa-va de suas apresentações, os tipos de instrumentos utilizados e os gêneros musicais reunidos no seu repertório. Esses aspectos colocados em cena, por meio de suas práticas, nos informam como foram constituídas diferentes identidades no quadro sociocultural de Mariana. Palavras-chave: Bandas de música.
