Résumé

Este artigo é uma reflexão sobre o corpo militar e as construções discursivas que incidem sobre os corpos pensados como femininos e masculinos e que se encontram historicamente classificados através da dicotomia ausência/presença da capacidade viril. A premissa da não virilidade, que até o início do século XX excluía o corpo de mulheres do mundo da caserna, será utilizada nas justificativas simbólicas da necessidade de inclusão de mulheres nesse espaço, como forma de humanizar, civilizar e modernizar as forças policiais e as forças armadas. Este texto refle-te sobre o corpo do guerreiro, a erosão e/ou transformação da virilidade oci-dental no século XX e o discurso maternalista como base comum da inclusão do “feminino” nas atividades militares e policiais.
