Abstract

A presente escritura tem como propósito – a partir da divulgação de parte de Tese de Doutorado defendida em 2009 na USP – historiar a governamentalidade da caserna no Estado Militar, pois a governamentalidade do Estado Militar sobre a própria instituição produziu mudança significativa na corporação. As medidas normalizantes dos primeiros governos militares já apontavam para o saneamento institucional. Em essência, os generais-presidentes buscavam dirimir as condições burocráticas anteriores que permitiam a criação de lideranças político-militares na instituição. Dessa forma, o Estado Militar procurou elaborar estratégias de poder sobre a instituição a fim de alinhar os interesses da nova ordem aos interesses do Exército.
