A Irmandade São Miguel e Almas e as estratégias de modernização sepulcral em Porto Alegre - RS, século XX

Este artigo pretende analisar a expansão do cemitério São Miguel e Almas de Porto Alegre - RS nas primeiras décadas do século XX. Para tal, investiga as atas do arquivo da instituição, destacando as estratégias administrativas de gerenciamento do espaço cemiterial para consolidá-lo como moderno, adequado e eficiente a fim de atender a demanda, num contexto marcado por normas de higienização, grandes epidemias e mortalidades. Por fim, busca entender os significados das perpetuações dos jazigos, que eram marcas de uma nova percepção do morrer, caracterizado pela maior gerência privada e familiar.
