Abstract

Procuramos, neste trabalho, fazer uma reflexão sobre a importância da utilização das imagens no trabalho do historiador, buscando embasamento teórico e referências em autores que fazem a discussão sobre este tipo de documento para mostrar o quanto pode ser produtiva a sua inserção no ensino de história, tendo em vista a produção de conhecimento histórico nos alunos. Torna-se vital refletir sobre os seus conceitos, sua forma de produção e intencionalidade, para permitir que os alunos também o façam entendendo que o documento imagético é produzido por uma determinada sociedade e possui intencionalidades e propósitos a serem averiguados pela análise documental.
