Abstract

Este trabalho tem por objetivo realizar uma análise das principais dificuldades que a Igreja Evangélica Luterana do Brasil enfrentou no decorrer do século XX no tocante à formação de pastores, o que desencadeou uma enorme deficiência no número de ministros para trabalho missionário e para o atendimento às congregações que estavam em funcionamento. Reflexo direto dessa ausência foi o surgimento da coluna “O leitor pergunta”, inserida no periódico Mensageiro Luterano, órgão oficial da Igreja. Assim, buscou se conhecer como a coluna colaborou para minimizar a carência de pastores, traçando o perfil dos luteranos que escreviam aos editores, dos pastores que responderam a essas perguntas, bem como o teor das perguntas e respostas entre as décadas de 1980 e 1989.
